Dr. Amanda Spikerman

Owner & Veterinarian

Born in sunny Florida and raised in Southern California, it's surprising that Dr. Spikerman has ended up in rainy Washington state, but she came here to earn her DVM from Washington State University and has decided to stay. Initially Dr. Spikerman wanted to be a teacher like her mom, but then realized helping animals was more to her liking than the prospect of spending the day with a room full of human kids. She does enjoy working with our client families, however, and her favorite part of the job is helping them find the best and most effective treatment plan for their pets. While she does love dogs and had them growing up, Dr. Spikerman will admit to being more of a cat person and has two felines of her own at home, as well as two ball pythons. When she's not helping patients, she loves playing computer games of all kinds.

Rachel

Rachel

Practice Manager

Growing up in Long Beach and Kelso, Rachel's home was full of pets, including dogs, cats, and fish, leading her to dream of becoming a veterinarian or zookeeper. She has worked in rescue shelters, grooming salons, and as a kennel tech and vet assistant before landing here at JHVC as Practice Manager. She says that building relationships with pet patients and their families is her favorite part of the job. A self-described dog person with a soft spot for orange cats, Rachel shares her home with her boyfriend, three sons, six canines, one feline and some chickens. When she's not working, she loves spending time with family, in particular watching her oldest son race. She also enjoys camping, hiking, line dancing, and indulging herself with peanut butter cups, coffee, and shopping on Amazon.

K

Kateland

Receptionist

Born in Onalaska and raised in Winlock, Kateland's family had many pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and rats, so she knew she wanted to help animals from a young age. She initially wanted to work at a zoo with exotic animals, and still dreams of having a zoo of her own, but very much enjoys getting to interact with our more domesticated pet patients every day. Kateland's family includes a son and daughter as well as two cats named Kimber and Toes. When she's not working, she spends her time going on waterfall-finding adventures, shooting pool, going to her kid's sporting events, and being the first one to find all the hidden snacks.

Debbie

Debbie

Receptionist

Originally from Hillsboro, OR, Debbie moved to Lewis County as a teenager and her family has always had dogs as family members. She previously worked in the dental field but is enjoying her transition to the veterinary world because of the opportunity to see and help fur kids on a daily basis. Debbie is married and is the mother of two boys, Brandon and Dylan. She also has several fur kids of her own, including dogs Bernie and Kojo, and cats named Sherman and Ash. When she's not working, Debbie enjoys beach time, camping, kayaking, and crafting with her family.

Sami

Sami

Assistant

Sami had lots of pets while growing up in Winlock, WA, so it's no surprise she is now working in the veterinary field. In addition to volunteering at several animal clinics, Sami has attended veterinary technician school and most enjoys assisting with dentals and surgeries. While she sees herself as more of a dog person, Sami loves all animals and has quite a few at home, including three canines, three horses, two cats and a turtle. Her free time is spent showing her horses at the local pinto club and playing with her dogs.
