Merrick grew up in Portland and St. Helens, OR, surrounded by a variety of animals including dogs, cats, fish, horses, and goats. As a child, Merrick dreamed of owning her own bar, but her love for animals always prevailed. She has a wealth of experience caring for animals, having learned from her own family pets and working at Riverside Animal Hospital. Currently, Merrick enjoys helping animals feel better and is a valuable member of the veterinary team.
A self-proclaimed “dog” person with a soft spot for cats, Merrick shares her home with a German Shepherd, a Corgi, and a horse. When not immersed in her work, she enjoys riding her horse, attending barrel races, and walking her dogs.
