Auren was raised in Washington state and as a kid had many pets—including cats, rats, fish, and a fire-bellied toad. They dreamed of being a veterinarian or an explorer and eventually fell into the animal health field as a result of clinics desperately needing help during the COVID-19 pandemic. Their training was on-the-job during a critical time, and as a result, Auren says they very much enjoy emergency and urgent care, as well as surgery.
Auren shares their home with their partner and “little alien” child, as well as a dog and three cats. When they are not working, Auren enjoys hiking, school, photography, and travel adventures, all fueled by too much coffee and stuffed-crust pepperoni pizza.
