Jackson Highway Veterinary Clinic in Chehalis is seeking an experienced or highly motivated receptionist to join our close-knit, friendly team of animal professionals. Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service to pet owners in a polite and timely manner, both in person and over the phone
- Respond with compassion and empathy in stressful and emotional situations
- Maintain a clean, stocked and orderly lobby and front office area
- Clean exam rooms between appointments
- Educate clients on food, treats, and products sold in waiting room
- Perform opening and closing procedures, end of day reports and daily deposits
- Data Entry: medical records, client questionnaires, referral information, etc.
The job needs a highly dependable person who once trained, can work independently with minimum supervision. The position includes both pet care and customer service, so to be successful, you’ll need to be:
- a good communicator
- able to respond with compassion in stressful situations
- a patient, positive personality
- able to triage clients on the phone and those waiting in the lobby to determine the difference between an emergency and a routine office visit
- detail-oriented and a quick learner
- able to work evenings and weekends
- able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- comfortable restraining animals as needed
- legally authorized to work in the U.S.
